Head Chef Alfie Barden will show you through making 5 local fish dishes, while Luis Gamiz from Indigo Wine will talk you through 5 matching wines from coastal Spain. The ultimate paring. The Bottle of Hastings is partnering with Cheese on Sea to offer a tasting of The Bottle of Hastings' favourite natural wines paired with some of the finest selections from Hastings' best artisan cheese shop. Drop in anytime between 4pm and 9pm to try five different natural wines alongside five different cheeses. £15 per person, between 4-9pm. Book here.

Join Tim Wildman MW and Ruth Spivey as they chat about Tim’s latest project ‘Lost In A Field’ - a mission to to make an English pet nat from heritage varieties whilst reviving long forgotten vineyards. As well as the chat your ticket will include a glass of Tim’s inaugural vintage of ‘Frolic’, plus samples of ‘Astrobunny’ (his Australian pet nat) and a range of other home grown pet nats by Tim’s contemporaries. £15 per person, 6.30pm. They’ve got a Portuguese wine takeover running all week with loads of choice by the glass, plus they’ll be hosting a PORT TASTING on Friday 23rd to round the week off. Join them from 6.30pm for an enlightening and fortifying journey through Port with Roman Gonitel from Portuguese wine importer Portuguese Story. Taste six different Ports, from white and tawny to ruby and well-aged, finding out how the different varieties are made as well as what best to pair them with - and it’s not just cheese!

They say natural wine doesn’t give you a hangover…. this is a good way to test that theory…

DOUG WREGG GEORGIAN WINE EDITION at TILLINGHAM

Tillingham are representing Georgia at Natural Wine Week - home of the qvevri.

On Thursday, eminent author, natural wine legend and importer, the legendary Doug Wregg (of Les Caves de Pyrenes) will be joining in the action. An academic of the wine world, Doug has an encyclopedic knowledge of wine. He’s also the man who helped Tillingham acquire their very first qvevri all the way from Georgia.

Doug has put together a list of his favourite Georgian imports which Tillingham be showing BTG and on the wider list across the bar and restaurant as part of Hastings Natural Wine Week. On Thursday 22 September, he’ll be down at the farm hosting a guided talk and tasting through 3 wines.

The St Leonards favourite has drawn France and is going to town with some INCREDIBLE French natural wines by the glass and food specials all week. Join the team for an extra special night on Wednesday 21st September for a LARGE FORMAT SUPPER CLUB. They are teaming up with Julian Huyart from Les Caves De Pyrene to host an intimate sharing supper of wines poured exclusively from magnums and French regional dishes all made for sharing.

GEORGIAN WINE TASTING WITH MICHAEL SAGER at TILLINGHAM

Tillingham will be representing Georgia at Natural Wine Week - fitting for a country that is home of the qvevri and considered by many to be the birthplace of wine itself.

On Sunday, Michael Sager will be down at the farm to showcase Sager and Wine’s selection of Georgian producers.

Since day one of setting up Sager and Wine, after Michael’s visit to the country in 2018, the team have been busy sourcing and connecting with some of the most talented, new generation of producers Georgia has to offer. Their portfolio includes Freya’s Marani, Gogo Wine, Tamuna Bidzinashvili, Samtavisi’s Marani and Oda Wines.

Michael will talk you through the winemaking process and you’ll have the opportunity to taste 3 wines exemplifying the different terroirs and regions of Georgia.

The Tillingham gang will be pouring a BTG list from these producers in our bar and restaurant, with more by the bottle.
