Six wines plus snacks and tutored tasting with Ruth Spivey.
English wine has undergone a dramatic ascension in recent years, with acres of new vineyards being planted, production increasing and quality soaring. And it’s not all about traditional method sparkling any more. More still wine is being produced from all sorts of varieties and an increasing number of growers are farming and vinifying using natural methods, eschewing herbicides/pesticides, regenerating the soils and adopting biodynamic practices. Most wine regions have been around forever, so it’s not often you get to experience the excitement of one that’s still emerging and experimenting.
As one of their tasting events for Hastings Natural Wine Week, The Bottle of Hastings will be opening six of the most interesting, innovative and naturally made English wines that each help define what English wine is all about and where its future is heading.
